IR302 Failover notifications

Recently acquired an IR302, it seems to switch smoothly from cellular to WAN and back again.  My concern is the Alert system.  It emails me seemingly at random for Interface UP /Down alerts, and doesn't correspond to the router being on cellular or wired.

Is there a better way to get the alerts configured for more timely/concise  notifications?
