IR301 Idle Data Consumption

I am using a IR301 model with a verizon sim IoT sim card. I have one mqtt gateway connected via WiFi to the router. Without any client IoT data being transmitted, I am using roughly 20mb of data per month. Are there any settings I can change to lower this?
